Environment
Boskalis executes much of its work in vulnerable nature areas, both at sea and on land. We invest in the development of innovative knowledge and technology to minimize the impact of our dredging work on the environment. Over the years we have built up a strong reputation in this area.

In executing our projects we do our utmost to prevent or limit noise and other pollution. Minimizing the amount of waste we generate, responsible removal of contaminated materials and efficient use of water and energy are also important to us.
We use the expertise of our Research & Development department to continuously improve our sustainable dredging methods. In 2006 we launched the ‘Building with Nature’ research program to develop knowledge about the impact of dredging on the environment.
The environmental expertise of our in-house engineering company Hydronamic is renowned and enables us to execute highly complex projects. Our subsidiary Boskalis Dolman is specialized in the sustainable execution of waterbed remediation and the recycling of mineral waste materials.
Boskalis complies with the internationally accepted standards ISM, ISO 14001 and OHSAS.
