Demand for maritime services is driven by a number of global trends:

  • growing energy consumption
  • growth in global trade
  • growth in world population
  • climate change

Boskalis has a wide range of high-quality services to deal with these trends, giving us excellent prospects for balanced growth.

The addition of SMIT Internationale at the beginning of 2010 expanded Boskalis’ range of services. For nearly 170 years SMIT has been providing maritime services, including harbour towagesalvage, transport and heavy lift. The company has earned an excellent reputation around the world.

Since 2011 we offer Terminal Services with the new Smit Lamnalco combination (50% share).

Boskalis has a strategic partnership with Archirodon, a leading maritime contractor in the areas of maritime, civil engineering and industrial construction, in particular in the Middle East and North Africa. In addition Boskalis has a strategic partnership with Smit Lamnalco, a leading global provider of terminal services.

The aqcuisition in 2011 of civil constructor MNO Vervat complements our infra and earthmoving activities.

Shares in Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. have been listed on the Amsterdam exchange, now NYSE Euronext Amsterdam, since 1971.
